I still haven’t been very good at updating the blog so here’s a quick update. Derek is still waiting for snow so he can play with his RC Trucks and make videos but still enjoys going over to the jumps with our neighbors when he gets a chance. The boys are happy to tag a long when they can.

Quinton is becoming more vocal and we are trying to do more potty training. He’s enjoying preschool and improving in different areas. Keaton is a happy boy and is getting closer to being independently mobile. Right now he prefers to move while on his bum. Soon he will find a more effective way. They love to wrestle until Keaton just gets squished but overall they do well together. Their little sister is becoming more active at night and it seems like shes grown a lot in my stomach just in these last couple of weeks!

Our Walmart nonstick cookware had warn out and so a few months back we got a Caphalon Bronze Cookware set. The cost was higher than our original set (a free wedding gift) but the lifetime warranty convinced us that it was a cookware set worth getting so here’s are review of how the Caphalon Bronze cookware set has held up:

We’ve had this set of Bronze Caphalon cookware for about 5 months now. They have been great pans. When you first take them out of the box they dont have much of a bronze color but as you cook with them they turn more bronze. Our 10 piece set includes the 2.5 and 1.5 quart saucepans, 10″ and 8″ frying pans, 8 qt stock pot, 3 qt saute pan, and 4 lids. The lids are interchangeable which is so nice to have considering my old walmart set did not. We purchased ours at JC Penney so we received a few extra freebies that you see in the picture- 8 piece spoon set, a towel, and a 5 qt dishwasher safe pan (it has the non curved handle on the lid).

Caphalon offers a lifetime warranty so they will replace any piece. Make sure you follow all the warnings they give you- like no metal utensils, hand wash only, no abrasive cleaning pads, don’t use cooking spray, and cooking at certain temperatures.

Cooking

These pans heat and cook evenly. The non stick works well. The handles stay fairly cool but I was surprised how warm the lids got you can still take them off without a hot pad but they were warmer than I thought they would get. They are also oven safe.

Clean up is so easy. I’ve never had to scrub these pans even if I didn’t get to clean them right after use.

Just the other day one of the boys knocked a pan off the counter onto our tile floor and it did not dent the pan at all. The durability has been great. They’re made in the USA. These pans have held up so well and look nice as well. These were a bit of a splurge but well worth it. I have been very pleased with the purchase and would recommend them if anyone needs new pans.

We had 2 little trips one with the Pincocks to the cabin in Island park. We were able to float the river, take walks to the river, ride 4 wheelers, play horse shoes, have rainy day games, and spend time with family! I was hoping to get a family picture but it didn’t quite happen so this one taken with my phone will have to do.

The next week we took a trip to Utah to spend some time with the Wattersons since Jillian’s family was in town. We went swimming- Keaton was hesitant for a while then he was ready to play- we visited the children’s discovery zone at Thanksgiving point. As usual Quinton liked to play in the water but they got tired after a couple of hours and were ready to go take naps. It was great to see so much family in such a short time!

In between our trips Derek finally got his electric scooter. He enjoyed taking it to work while it was warm. Quinton also like to ride on it with Dad or just having the bike trailer hooked up so he could go for a short trip or over to the nature park. Its been a good summer and we are getting ready for winter!

We haven’t updated this for a while so we decided it was about time. I’ll see what I can remember. This year we were a little more adventurous and went up to Driggs for a 4th of July celebration with our neighbors. Quinton enjoyed the bounce houses and being outside all day. He even watched the fireworks! Keaton was happy all day and they were both ready for sleep at the end. I think it was the best fireworks display we have seen. Next year will be fun but we won’t go up quite so early.

This last weekend Derek and Quinton explored the ice and civil defense caves with Tracy Casey Jim and Denise. Quinton didn’t like the tight crawl spaces but they said he did better than some college girls so that’s not too bad for an almost 3 yr old.

Summer weather has been nice. We’ve been able to go for walks, play with trucks, go for wagon rides, ride the gokart, BBQ, watch movies, roast s’mores and just socialize outdoors. Quinton and Keaton have also enjoyed seeing our neighbors fluffy puppies-they still need homes so if anyone wants to purchase a little dog let us know. Quinton is becoming much more social with all the neighbor kids and Keaton is busy growing and anxious to move around like his brother.

Derek and I both received new callings! Derek is the second counselor in the Sunday School Presidency so he is more busy during in church. I was first moved to be the Beehive adviser but a couple months later was switched to be the second counselor in Young Women’s. I was able to go up to a day of Girls Camp with Keaton while Quinton spent the day with his cousins. Derek and Quinton have been able to have more time together while mom and Keaton go to the weekly activities. It’s been a few eventful changes.

A fun idea, but we have no yard. The only place we could put a spa is in our garage, then a car would have to be on the street and I’m not even sure how kosher it is to have a spa in a garage.

Next thing I know Janalee has hijacked my iPad and is house hunting like crazy. She actually found some good deals, only thing is we’ve got a deal with the IRS where they will take our firstborn if we move and for a few of her choices I’d have to work a job nights and Saturday’s.

So does anybody know if we can run a spa in are garage? Cause if not I wont have to worry about rather for a few more years.

If we were to buy a home now I think this would definitely be my top pick. It has 6 bedrooms 4 baths a nice backyard covered patio for a spa and it’s under 250. The kitchen is a good size and has great sized living rooms. If only we were ready to buy now. Who knows maybe it will still be on the market if we decide to stay in Rexburg.
